Rated 1 out of 5?by Casey007 We Got a Lemon
Initially, we were excited to move into West Village. The amenities, easy access to the highways and downtown Atlanta, quality of restaurants, and good walkability all seem inviting. However, gradually, the appealing factors of West Village succumbed to the paper thin walls and ceilings, smelly hallways, poor management, etc. I should reiterate "poor management." Management is a major problem. It seems like once they've got you all signed up with a lease and moved in, they could care less about you as a resident. For example, we contacted them about the upstairs neighbors' constant running in their apartment (weird, yes). We were told by the assistant manager, "Welcome to apartment living." After talking with a couple of our neighbors who had a similar problem, they were told the same thing. Really? We've lived in other apartments before and never had that problem. Also, we've never been treated poorly by a management staff. That was just one small example. Needless to say, we are moving out... just like our neighbors did a few weeks ago. HWV seems like an attractive place to live on the outside, but we suggest that people do not move here.

Big Mistake, Huge Mistake! The Highlands of West Village are terrible, and I would not recommend anyone to live here! The only perks about this place are the restaurants and shops and the convenience of being able to hop onto 285 in less than 2 minutes.
The customer service was great, until we moved in. We complained so much to the leasing office that they just ignore our complaints. There is supposed to be a 40 lb weight limit on dogs and no aggressive breeds. I haven't seen but one aggressive breed (a couple of pit bulls), but I meet an aggressive dog every time I step foot outside of my apartment. All the dogs around here are not socialized and do not know how to act around people they do not know. Not to mention, you will be greeted by a dog's booboo and urine in the elevators and common areas on a weekly if not daily basis. If you don't own a dog, I wouldn't recommend living here at all.
The people who live in this community do not take pride in where they live. They do not pick up after themselves. I guess they think that since they pay $25 a month for trash that the apartment is responsible for cleaning up their trash. The apartment at best empties the common area trash every 2 or 3 days.
The apartments are built like garbage, you can hear everything that goes on. If you are just talking loud it is heard in the apartment next door and in the hallways. It sounds like the person above you is stomping when they are just walking normally. Every little sound is heard everywhere in these cheaply built units. These apartments are just over priced and poorly made.
Coming to live here has been the worst decision ever. We will be so glad when our 13 month lease where we pay market price rent, is OVER!!! I will never recommend this place to anyone!
