DO NOT MOVE HERE! I have lived in other nearby apartment complexes by Perimeter Mall and The Point at Perimeter is truly the bottom of the barrel.
For starters, the leasing agents will say anything to get you to rent there, whether it's true or not. For instance, I was "guaranteed" a certain rate for my apartment and was told I would be given free covered parking if I put the deposit down that day, and when it came time to sign the lease the number was $50 higher than what we discussed, and the free parking was "not approved by the manager". I was in a tough position because by the time the apartment was ready and I needed to sign the lease, I didn't have any time to find another place within my budget, so I had to sign. Strike one.
In addition to other annoying things upon move in (my key card didn't work to get in the gate, there were dead roaches in all of the kitchen cabinets, cigarette butts on my back porch, etc.) the maintenance requests I had put in to be completed prior to move in were not even addressed. That included the entire siding of the bath tub being ripped off, my security system not being turned on and needing pest control to come.
After my first week living there, after speaking with my leasing agent AND putting in a maintenance request (again) the siding on my tub was fixed. I've been here for two months now and my security system is still not turned on. I've requested pest control three times and they have come once (oh, by the way, you'll get a bill for pest control too - that's not included in your rent!). If you're wondering what kinds of bugs they have, it's everything from roaches to spiders to centipedes, and I'm a very clean person. I didn't even have food in the apartment for two weeks in fear of the problem getting worse. I spent 15 minutes this morning chasing a 4 inch centipede around my bedroom ceiling, fun times! Strike two.
Now for the most annoying part - upon move in my bedroom door was cracked and splintered at the bottom, causing it to rip the carpet every time I opened it. In addition, the handle on the "brand new" oven was broken and hanging off on one side, so in order to open it I have to pry it open on the sides with my fingers - not fun when it's hot! I put in a request for both of these items three weeks ago now. About a week later, maintenance came and took my bedroom door, without leaving a note or any communication. Didn't touch the oven. I went into the leasing office to ask about it after another week, and was told I would receive a call. No call. I put in another maintenance request just to have a new door or to have someone fix the oven so I can stop burning myself, and haven't heard a peep. I've contacted Fairfield, the management company, and I've gotten no response. Strike three.
Also, the gym flat out sucks. It's July right now and last Sunday I walked out to the pool at 11:00am and it was padlocked shut. So, certainly don't consider this place for its amenities.
I'm so over this place and their complete lack of professionalism and disregard for their tenants. Again, DO NOT MOVE HERE. This place is a dump. (Oh, and if for some reason you do have to live here, be sure to get an apartment as far away from the dumpster as possible. It doesn't seem to ever get emptied and the infestations around there are enough to make you drive your trash to another facility to get rid of it.)
