Rated 1 out of 5?by Unhappy Parent Don't care about their customers/poor security/uncooperative management The office staff and management at this facility are far below par. They care nothing about their customers/residents who are paying hefty rents to live here. They treat the residents and the paying parents like school children and do not accept responsibility when there is a problem. They do not use common sense to resolve issues. Secondly there is a false sense of security here and the facility does not have their own consistent security but instead allows outside towing companies to gain unlimited access to the property to "troll" for minor parking infractions by residents and extort money from residents in return for their towed cars.. As a parent I was quite disturbed when I received a call from my student when he discovered his car missing when he got up in the morning. Apparently after coming home from work at 7:00 pm he parked over the "white line" between two parking spaces during spring break when most residents were away and the lot was deserted. We later found out that the towing company removed his car from the parking lot at 2:30 in the morning and he was then slapped with hefting towing and cab fare charges (in excess of $100). When the auto was discovered missing in the morning and a call was made to "security" no one ever even called back. Technically my student made a mistake by "breaking the rules" and parking over the white line....however the management at the Retreat could not understand that their actions in this situation was extreme given that the lot was empty! To have someone's car stolen/towed in the middle of the night for such a minor item is ridiculous and totally unprofessional. Beware before you move here that the management is not cooperative and is disrespectful to the residents and paying parents. April 2, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5?by friez182 Nice Place to Live I was really impressed when I first visited and signed my lease. I like the nice, homey feel of the cottages as they don't have that "cookie cutter" apartment look to them. The pool and amenities are great and I like how it's a gated community. I've never really had a problem with maintenance or the staff, I don't know why everyone else is having such bad luck on that aspect. Only problem I've had was terrible roommate matching. One of my roommate's that I'm living with now could not be more polar opposite from me in that I absolutely can't stand living with her. The prices are a bit high as well, but considering how much they offer in the actual complex, I find it to be worth it compared to other places. January 21, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5?by Lacey Hidden Charges So disappointed with the service recently. Promised one thing and received another. When asking very basic questions to girls working at the front desk their knowledge was extremely lacking and gave me incorrect information, this later fostered many frustrations seeing as I was being charged for things I didn't know about. Rated 1 out of 5?by dmt13 NOT WORTH IT I have lived here for 6 weeks and am already wishing I chose Campus Circle or ANY other apartment in Tallahassee. The cottages are pretty and everything looks nice but everything is ALWAYS broken and management never calls back, sends anyone out, or just plain ignores you. I went a month with a broken dishwasher and called everyday after being assured someone will come fix it multiple times. Our wifi never works and I've even had multiple packages dropped off in the front office and been given notices I had mail so when I went to pick them up I was told "whoever was working when it was dropped off must have put it somewhere else, come back tomorrow". Don't waste your money. August 8, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5?by lolodu Do Not Live Here There are so many terrible things I could write about this place that I don't even know where to begin. With it the cottages being brand new you would think everything would work great. Completely wrong. My cottage has had problems from air conditioning not working, wifi not working, dishwasher not working multiple times, and even ladybug, spider, and cockroach infestations. When you call to get help, it takes forever for someone to come fix it. With the bugs they came and sprayed with a can of something from Lowes. Me or any of my roommates could have done that ourselves and not waited a whole week for someone to do it for us. The worst part is how completely unsafe it is here. Security hardly does anything and there have been many robberies considering it is located in such a terrible area. They completely rob you of your money that you supposedly spend on amenities. What amenities? The machines in the gym are always broken, and they close the pool for weeks after they have one of their self proclaimed "best pool parties in Tallahassee". Save yourself a lot of money and find somewhere else to live. July 24, 2013
