Thanks to previous post!!!!! Agree... RUN from this place.
Besides the hassle, frustration, money not returned, and utter disbelief it seems I am relatively relieved that the "management" (using that word very loosely# attempted what I'd roughly consider a 'bait and switch' regarding a promotion where upon 'approval' and last minute the manager requested an additional full month's rent deposit! Plenty of interaction regarding getting a place here #I was trying to be fair, giving them the benefit of the doubt when I should have been RUNNING far away from this place#.
Checked other places, even paid other place's application fee to find out if the same would occur #if it was 'standard' related to my situation#... nope ONLY Arvada Station did the "bait & switch".
NOT overly surprised to find out that ONLY Arvada Station REQUIRED this exhorbent/EXCESSIVE ADDITIONAL deposit!! At least not surprised after my experience with them. Even the other apartment complex representatives said it sounded like this place had issues that seriously needed addressed.
Horrible "management", even contacted via email and call their main offices/corporate office in San Antonio, TX. Did not do any good. The Arvada Station management when asked for the number for someone higher #that wasn't on vacatin or in a meeting# initially was NOT forthcoming with the contact name or number, in fact gave out wrong number. Called back and it took being insistant that number was wrong to get the correct number for someone at corporate offices; had to ask for corporate address so could get right number before got a good number for person in corporate office. Then still ended up with voice mail. Utterly amazed!! Shouldn't be but was utterly amazed at that deceptive attempt with the phone number. BTW - I have the number in case anyone wants it, for all the good it'll do.
Dont even bother with this place. Pre-leasing was a mess. People #6 different groups of people waiting, and waiting, and waiting# for someone to get back in to the clubhouse to get info and be shown around, 2 groups left before someone showed up over 30 minutes later. That and a few other incidents, including confusion on initial paperwork, issues with their site for application, etc. should have been initial clues, but I was giving them the benefit of the doubt, that is until the Three Stooges routine/joke regarding actually getting in the place & the additional deposit issue. Your comment to RUN far away from this place is a very good suggestion. #Overpriced, poor quality, poor management practices, cheap appliances, cheap flooring/carpets for the price and what the ATTEMPT and self touting that it is up-scale !!!#
Overall it seems that I escaped a bad situation all around! Oh, and they took my initial deposit & "administrative fee' #joke# OVER 30 days ago and I have NOT received anything back. HORRIBLE!
Reminds me that I need to once again contact Arvada Stations main office about that, getting MY money back #well over 30 days since I gave it to them to HOLD a place while incorrect info was being figured out#, also need to post to as many sites like this one AND report this issue to the BBB!!!
Parking - not the greatest & it isn't even finished yet. The JOKE about the lightrail, them using it as a 'selling point' is FALSE, considering it doesn't get there to for a few years #by then all the residents that were lured in will have left.#
Noise - empty apartment heard a LOT of noise #construction, people in complex, etc.# Then again, to try to be fair, it was during construction #FYI - they make you sign a waiver regarding it#. Then again construction will continue there for a while, so I guess the noise will too.
Grounds - sparse. ...and check out the industrial stuff to the west/behind it before you decide to sign a lease. Ended up seeing this AFTER all the issues, and ONLY when I drove to the back area #when I initially started looking there the gate to the back was locked #for construction# but someone left it open/opened it up one evening and I drove to the area under construction; that is when I saw the industrial stuff to the west/back of the complex.
Safety - can't comment on this too much, except the area is still undergoing improvements...BUT do a GOOD look around about 1 to 3 miles SOUTH of the place and less than a mile West to decide for yourself. I think you'll be surprised that the area is not quite as it is represented/touted by management & leasing people there!
Staff - friendly #2 of them at least# and trying but TRYING is the operative word. Upper management does not appear to be management quality/professional. Friendly does NOT make up for HORRIBLE poor skills, poor organization, poor management, etc.
