DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CARMEL PARTNERS
After I signed a lease with Carmel as I was moving across the country & blindly signed the lease, I found the reviews online of how awful the management is and how they try to scam you out of money once you vacate. I thought that, maybe since the reviews were not recent, maybe the management would not do this. I WAS SO WRONG. Not only did I have multiple problems with the management while living there, but they are now charging me with replacing the carpet. $1000.00. Absolutely ridiculous. After being there only a couple of month, they credited my personal check to another apartment and tried to charge me a late fee for not paying rent, even though I paid early & they can?t read a check. Next, they booted my car because they thought it was an abandoned car, even though I moved it EVERY SINGLE DAY, but they chose to let a car with a flat tire stay in the same spot for over a year. They tried to tow my car while I was out of town. Next, their online system totals do not match the actual totals that they have in the office & if you go by what the online system says & you?re short, they will file an eviction judgment, even over less than ten dollars. After that, I tried paying rent one month but the office staff insisted that I had already paid, even though I assured them that I had not. They advised me to stop payment on the check I submitted online & I went about my business. TWO MONTHS LATER they want to charge me late fees for not paying rent. What happened was they ran an old money order through their system and it took them two months to realize it. The money order was from 6 months ago. They never once apologized for this mistake and forced me to pay the rent within 7 days or it would go to collections. And finally, they are now charging me to replace the carpet, even though I had a final walkthrough and they told me that the carpet would not need to be replaced. PLEASE BELIEVE THIS REVIEW. I didn?t believe them & I royally paid for it. I had a perfect rental record before renting with Carmel. Now I have multiple late payments and an eviction judgment; none of which were my fault.

Puts the squeeze on you to either renew long-term or have a 25% rent increase. Tries to get over on you during move out. Almost every resident around us left in the time we were there. No one sticks around. Even staff that get a discount want to leave or have left if they live on the premises.

I loved living at bear creek. The office staff was always friendly and willing to help. The office would get busy but they would always acknowledge that i was waiting and offer me cookies or some sort of refreshment. as soon as they were done they would come right over to help. I enjoyed all of the events that they had for residents, even though most of them were held while I was working and I only made it to a couple. I had 2 dogs and they loved going to the office. Everyone in the office would give them treats and pet them. They also have pet stations spread around the community. Would re rent here if I wasn't buying a house. The only down side is they don't have a tennis court and gym gets busy

I am sad to say after being a loyal Carmel resident I no longer wish to do business with this company due to the awful leasing staff at Bear Creek. They are horrible to work with, they are always in the office gossiping and when you go into the office they always seem less than pleased to see you. They constantly seem annoyed when you need something from them. Sorry but I must give this apartment a bad review!
It is NOT pet-friendly, even though it says it is and everything breaks in the apartment. I have had multiple floods. Maintenance was terrific however!

STAY AWAY! Yes I will be moving out soon.I was here when Carmel bought out the place. Yes they made some much needed improvements but ignored the parking on the west end. If you get a unit on the east end then your fine. I have put up with them upgrading the apartments and charging 150 dollars more and raising the costs for garages that won?t fit a tahoe or truck. If you have a jeep Cherokee it is still tight. The worst is parking on the west side where if you come home after 5pm you WILL park on the street. If you are home later plan on walking from near the mailboxes to your unit. Taking out your trash is a workout in iteself because of the distance. Maintenance is good and management is good. Gym is small and is ok if your using the treadmill. Universal is not very good. Pool is small and not deep, kids will be in it all hours of the night unless you call security for the noise. They are very friendly. I do not recommend this place. I thought when Carmel took over it would get better.
