Rated 1 out of 5?by Terrible Office staffs I lived at the apartment for 2 years. The apartment would be a better place if the office manager and staffs know what customer service is all about. They are terrible.They are there not to help you rather to show their egos.. However, maintenance guys are superb. November 25, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5?by HANDS DOWN THE WORST PLACE I'VE EVEN LIVED!! HANDS DOWN THE WORST PLACE I'VE EVEN LIVED!! Biggest problems are the 1) Pest and 2) The lazy, unattentive staff in the leasing office. I lived there less than 1 year and we've had problems with wasps, bees, ants and worst of all cockroaches. What is even worse than that is the staff in the leasing office. They seem really nice at first..obviously because they want you to live there so they can meet their goal and get their commission. The minute you sign the lease, all the customer service is out the door. When we first moved in, there was a huge wasp nest in our backyard. I told the leasing office and they scheduled for pest control the following week. Pest control came, sprayed and took care of it. While pest control was there I told him we noticed there is a live bee hive at the front of our house (near our upstairs window) and a lot of the bees were hovering over our front door. The pest control said he had to talk to the leasing office because apparently "bee treatment was not covered by the leasing office." I never heard back from pest control or the leasing office so the following week I go to the leasing office and asked that it be taken care of "sure, no problem we will send them next week" they said. Next week arrives and still no pest control. At this point there are a bunch of bees at our front door and my 2year year old son and I have to quickly run in and out of the house just to get through the front door. I go to the leasing office for the 3rd time in a rage and asked them why pest control didn't show up again. Staff says they don't know why pest control didn't show up. They said they would "take care of it right now" by calling pest control and asking them to come back today. They said they would call me in 15 min when they hear back. 2 hours go by and nobody contacted me back. I go back in the office the next day even more mad and they said they didn't call me back yesterday because their "phone lines were down"?! give me a break! The staff at the leasing office will find any excuse to avoid helping their residents. Couple month later we start seeing cockroaches in our apt. Disgusting!! Leasing office said we could buy roach spray on our own to take care of it and they would reimburse us. I told him this is their property so they should be the one to take care of it. And again, it's like pulling teeth to get pest control to show up but finally they sprayed and we thought that would be the end of it. NOPE! We still saw roaches. They sprayed 2 more times and guess what..we still had cockroaches. We saw one that was huge..about 3-4 inches. I am generally a patient person, but with all the pest problems and lack of customer service I lost all the patience I had. Thank goodness our lease is up because we got out of that place as soon as we could. I've lived in a lot of place before but I have to say, this is the worst place I have ever lived. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. And I'm sure anyone who has lived there would agree with me as people are moving out left and right. It looks nice from far away, and you get decent amount of living space, but once you live there it is noisy, a lot of riff raff, and staff at the leasing office has absolutely no sense of urgency or obligation to their residents. They are unreliable and it takes forever for something simple to be done. The maintenance guys were nice and effective for the most part. The other outside staff members like the landscapers and pest control are down right rude and lazy. One landscaper would just sit in the maintenance room and just bring his wife and kids there and just sit around instead of doing work. I usually don't write reviews for business but I had such a horrible experience there that I feel compelled that future residents know the truth about this place. Rated 1 out of 5?by BAD EXPERIENCE! BOTTOM LINE: EXPENSIVE, AND THE WHOLE COMPANY IS GEARED TOWARD SPENDING AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE WHILE GETTING AS MUCH OF YOUR MONEY AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. I was between houses and this was in a convenient location. I spent a miserable six months dealing with a tiny kitchen, very sloppily painted walls, smelly water and lots of noise. Very expensive. After my short lease was up, my rent increased by $300/month in direct contradiction to what the staff person told me when I first signed a lease. I made the staff aware of shabby, peeling paint, poorly repainted appliances (repainted?? I didn't know you could repaint a stove - which, by the way, blocked access to two cabinets in the already microscopic kitchen. I was told, "do not clean, not to worry, we do it anyway" with no mention of a cleaning fee. My walk through was delayed because the maintenance staff was busy - the staff person I dealt with predominantly said she would take care of it. Not only did they charge me for carpet cleaning, painting and whatever else they could think of, they threw away my FIOS gear, which is going to cost me a mint. I feel like a fool; not being a regular renter, I took things way too lightly at Lafayette Parc. If you choose to live here, document EVERYTHING. Make office staff write and sign statements about anything that matters. Read and question your lease agreement closely. These people are looking out for the bottom line, not for your interests, no matter how nice they may seem. May 17, 2013
