Rated 5 out of 5?by Wolfe Pubby Been living here years , Great Place
I have no idea what is going on with these reviews, the place is a dump ? Are you kidding me! they are constantly working on the construction and have improved the state of the patios and the entire complex. The pool is cleaned twice a week,(also it is heated which is awesome) I know this because I am in the pool almost everyday since it is a part of my career. I am there when the pool man cleans the pool! The only time that the pool is a problem is during the summer when the kids are out of school, which is to be expected. During those times the pool does get dirtier than usual, but it is still cleaned. I use to live here for a few years before I moved back to England, as soon as I was ready to come back and move into a new place I came back here because I love this place. I just signed my second year lease after coming back from England. The staff is amazing and very kind, the maintenance service is quick and the workers are really awesome, I always say hi to them everyday and they have been very sweet to me. They also do a lot of events for the complex and the kids, we had a Easter egg hunt with food and a Easter bunny to take photos with. They do a thanksgiving pot luck and have raffles for winning money towards your rent. There is a community breakfast every first Saturday of the month. I have lived in many places and Placentia Place (Archstone) has been the best. If there is a smoking problem tell the office , they have security guards for after hours and they do take it seriously. I had a problem with a few people that were in the spa area that didn't even live here doing some things that effect some families here. I called the office and told them what was going on, that the people were breaking in the spa area. Within a week I never saw them again and they fixed the lock to the spa. I usually don't do reviews but I'm really tired of seeing all these bad reviews for this place on other sites as well. Give it a chance talk to the staff if you have a problem with something. There is always going to be some sort of problem tell them! don't just assume they will know. Its not freakin Hogwarts with a bunch of Wizards seriously ..

Rated 2 out of 5?by AnneC Almost Decent Apartment Community
Looks nice on the outside but the place is a dump. The apartments have no ventilation, very limited parking, and rude staff you have to deal with. The pool area is decent looking when they actually clean the pool. There is a gym but it's pretty much two treadmills and a stationary bike. I guess it's better than nothing. Don't plan on doing laundry unless it's tues-fri. I wouldn't recommend living here unless you were tight on cash and it was your only option.

Rated 3 out of 5?by Amy 3 years living here (SMOKING problem at pool area)
+The complex feels relatively safe
+Nice, clean porperty
+The pool is well maintained and is a big selling point for potential tenants (although the other pools in the complex are not nearly as nice)
-Parking is terrible if you come home after 6:00 pm
-The gym equipment is almost always broken (of the two treadmills and one eliptical, both treadmills were broken for weeks. After telling them multiple times, they still weren't fixed. It doesn't work to have a community of 400+ units sharing 1 eliptical!!!).
-The worst part of living here is that they do not regulate or monitor the activity in their pool, even though it is attached to their leasing office. There is constantly multiple people partying at the pool with booze and endless SMOKING!! Small children cannot swim when they are subject to second-hand smoke and drunk kids attempting to play football in the pool. The SMOKING is the worst part, as there is just no escaping the involuntary effects of second-hand exposure. I've told the leasing office many times and I haven't seen any changes. There is a tiny sign on their office door that reads something like, "Non-smoking facility", but it is not visible from a poolside angle, and it appears to be for the leasing office and not the pool. We pay so much to live here and want to enjoy the pool or jacuzzi from time to time, but there are always inconsiderate people smoking with no restrictions enforced by staff. It's ridiculous!!
PLEASE RESTRICT SMOKING AT THE POOL AREA!!! In the state of CA, one cannot smoke within 20 feet of a public building. This is because of how invasive and dangerous cigarette smoke is. Why is it ok at a pool where children and families pay to visit. Smokers can smoke on their own patios, cars, or homes... it's unfair to impose on others' health and ability to enjoy a paid activity like swimming!
IF Placentia Place does have rules against smoking in the pool area, signs need to be clearer (at the entrance of the pool area and around the pool), and staff need to check to enforce smoking.

Rated 1 out of 5?by J. Gatsby I hate EVERYTHING about this place EXCEPT for Kacee
Since the community has changed ownership from Archstone to Irvine Company I have grown to loathe this place in every way. The one exception is the manger, Kaycee. She is genuinely a very good manager with the ability to listen to resident's and help solve any issues in a fair and honest way. She has worked with my husband and I on several issues and always did the right thing. I very much appreciate her and her ability to reason (as she seems to be the only one in the office who can). Even today no one in the office was able to help us and I told my husband to talk to Kacee and she helped right away. She is also VERY pretty!
Everything else around here stinks but nonetheless I thought I would give credit where credit is due.

Rated 4 out of 5?by bowing417 Nice Place to live
The apartments are very spacious and nice. Neighbors all seem to keep to themselves. Joe at the office to me has been the most helpful than the girls there. The staff do leave nasty notes on your door though. There is a way to communicate with out make you feel like you are a criminal or unfit tenant. Ever heard of customer service?
