Highland District

Ellwanger-Barry is the former name of the small area of land now called the Highland Park neighborhood. Ellwanger-Barry (which from now on will be referred to as the Highland Park Neighborhood) lies in the southeast quadrant of the city. The change of name was made to reflect the neighborhood's proximity to Highland Park.

Residents of Highland Park neighborhood walk a short distance to Highland Park, one of the most idyllic spots in all of Rochester. The neighborhood smells of lilac every spring during the city's famous Lilac festival. Outdoor enthusiasts find plenty to enjoy in this park-centric neighborhood throughout the year.

Highland Park lies close to busier sections of town such as South Wedge. It takes less than 10 minutes to reach downtown Rochester.
